Volunteer Today!
The Malta Fire Protection District is made up entirely of volunteers. These are members of our community who have decided to dedicate their time to protecting the citizens of the community in which they live in. If this sounds like something you would be interested in, please fill out the form in our contact us page. There are no prerequisites to join, we will put you through the training. However, if you have any fire or EMS experience that is a bonus. We have training every Wednesday night at 6pm. Again, please fill out the form, and let us know if you have any questions. We are more than happy to provide you with more information.
Types of Members
Malta is always looking for volunteers to help respond to calls for service. There are multiple ways you can get involved in our department.
Fire personnel- These are the members that respond from home. If you have any past fire training that is a bonus, however we will provide you with any training necessary.
EMS personnel- These are the EMT's and Paramedics that staff our ambulance. You must have your Illinois EMT-B or Paramedic license. We staff our ambulance with crews in the station from 7am to 7pm, and then members respond from home in the evening.
